Barcelona confirm transfer interest in Arsenal star
Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal has confirmed that the club are looking into a possible deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during this summer's transfer window.
Aubameyang was heavily linked with a move to the Blaugrana last month after it was confirmed that Luis Suarez could miss most of the season following his knee injury.
Though no deal materialised between the sides, there is still the speculation that Aubameyang could leave the Gunners in the summer with his contract expiring at the end of next season.
Speaking to Sport, Abidal confirmed that the club have their sights on landing a new marksman and that won't necessarily hamper the future of Suarez, who has suffered multiple injuries of late.
He added that Aubameyang is one of the names on their radar and hinted that the club could make a renewed attempt to land his services when the transfer window reopens.
"I know him (Aubameyang). He has a profile that has depth. He is important, and in his team he is decisive. It is good to bring this profile of player who can be in the market and can help you. We'll see what will happen," he told.
Aubameyang recently returned from a three-game domestic suspension for the Gunners. He was guilty of missing a couple of scoring chances as the club settled for a 0-0 league draw at Burnley.
