Chlesea prepare £43m bid for highly-rated Ligue 1 midfielder

Chelsea plot move for Lyon's Aouar

Chelsea are reportedly plotting a bid worth £43m for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The French youngster has caught the eye of the Blues following his impressive display in the UCL knockouts against Juventus, who are also said to be keeping close tabs on him.

According to Daily Mail, the Blues are heavily interested in signing the 21-year-old as Frank Lampard is poised for a productive summer transfer window.

It was previously reported that the West London outfit are planning for a squad overhaul following their recent struggles, which includes their defeat against Bayern in the Champions League round of 16.

Lampard is also reportedly considering axing around eight players including the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Jorginho.

The only competition for Blues turns out to be Serie A giants Juve, who are considering Aouar as an alternative to Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

The French U-21 star is having a great season with Les Gones, racking up 9 goals and 7 assists in all competitions.

Having already added the Moroccon Ace Hazim Ziyech to the squad, Lampard intends to make up for the transfer drought for the past year.
