Barcelona striker Luis Suarez encourages Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez to succeed him at Camp Nou.

The Argentine striker turns out to be a priority for the Catalans this summer and perhaps wanted to take the place of the Uruguayan in the long run.

Suarez, who is on the recovery road following an ankle surgery, has offered his thoughts on Martinez.

“Lautaro is very talented. He is a player who in his second year in Italy is playing at a great level."

"But the players do not make decisions; I have been saying for two years that it would be good to bring in a young striker so he can start adapting and learn for when I leave."

Earlier Barca’s skipper Lionel Messi also commented on Martinez’s possible move to the Camp Nou in a similar fashion to that of Suarez. He also singled out that both the strikers carry traits in common.

The 22-year-old has been excellent in front of the goal for the Nerazzurri, scoring 16 goals in all competitions this season.

Signing a striker is one of the to-do options for the Blaugrana in the summer transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether they could exercise Martinez's release clause of €111m.
