Chelsea have been handed with a boost in their pursuit of Brazilian defender Alex Telles after he turned down a contract extension at Porto.

The Brazil international has 170 appearances for Porto over the past three-and-a-half years and he has been in fine form this term, having contributed eight goals and six assists while featuring from the left-back spot.

According to The Express, the west London giants are expected to offload one of Emerson or Marcos Alonso during the summer and Telles has been earmarked as one of the possible targets to fill the void.

Telles has less than 18 months remaining on his existing deal with the Portuguese giants and it appears that they may have to consider cashing in on his services with his reluctance to ink a new contract.

Apart from Telles, the Blues have also been linked with Leicester City's Ben Chilwell but the Englishman could come at a much expensive price than Telles. The Foxes are likely to demand around £60m for their graduate.
