Manchester United open talks with agent of French winger
Manchester United reportedly met with the agent of Thomas Lemar, who has been fancied to leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
The Frenchman has failed to impress since parting ways with AS Monaco in 2018 and he has contributed just three goals and six assists in 64 appearances for Atleti.
In the current season, he has failed to make any goalscoring contribution for the Spanish giants and ESPN reports that he could be shown the exit door in the summer.
It is added that United have already made contact with the player's representative and a move to Old Trafford could be on the cards when the transfer window reopens.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has placed the emphasis on recruiting young players into the squad and ESPN suggests that Lemar's left foot and creativity could be an asset for the Red Devils.
Lemar, who has been struggling with a muscle injury in recent weeks, is contracted to the Madrid outfit until the summer of 2023. He is currently valued at around £50m.
