Chelsea want to seal loan deal for Coutinho

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to lure Philippe Coutinho back to the Premier League, suppose Barcelona are willing to sanction a temporary deal for his services.

The Blues are likely to pursue a creative midfielder during the next transfer window and Coutinho has been earmarked as the prime target for manager Frank Lampard.

According to Sport, the Blues have been keeping a close eye on the player's situation and they are willing to sign him on a season-long loan when the transfer window reopens.

It is added that the west London outfit will pay 100 per cent of the player's £250,000-a-week wages and thus help the Blaugrana reduce their wage bill for next term.

Coutinho is currently on loan with Bayern Munich where he has netted eight goals and registered six assists from 22 league outings. Still, the German side are reluctant to sign him permanently for £90m this summer.

Lampard's side have already signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax. They are likely to make at least three more signings but their plans may be disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
