Arsenal to swap Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Barcelona star?
Arsenal could reportedly sanction the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona this summer in a straight-exchange deal involving Ousmane Dembele.
Aubameyang has been a crucial performer for the Gunners over the past two years where he has bagged 61 goals, but he could head through the exit door this summer amid his reluctance to sign a new contract beyond June 2021.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are one of the clubs in the running to sign Aubameyang and they could be prepared to offer Dembele in a swap agreement.
The Spanish champions have been fancied to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan in recent months but a deal appears unlikely with the Nerazzurri reluctant to accept anything less than the player's £99m release clause.
Aubameyang has been earmarked as a plan B option for them but it remains to be seen whether the Gunners are interested in signing Dembele in exchange for the Gabonese.
Dembele has experienced as many as nine injuries during his two-and-a-half spell with the Catalan giants and he is currently sidelined until September following a surgery for a hamstring tear.
His injury record has meant that he has been restricted to only 74 appearances for the club. Dembele has just over two years remaining on his Blaugrana contract.
