Timo Werner set for Chelsea move after manager confirms departure
RB Leipzig are set to part company with outbound striker Timo Werner after the club's manager all but confirmed the Germany international will be transferring to Chelsea. Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the forward will move to another club for next season.
The striker, who has bagged 31 goals so far this campaign, is one of the hottest properties in world football and is now set to ply his trade in the English Premier League after the Stamford Bridge outfit agreed to match the 53 million euro minimum fee release clause in the striker's contract with RB.
Werner will earn a reported 300,000 euros per week as part of his deal in West London, making him one of the Premier League's top earning talents.
It is understood Chelsea have defeated Liverpool to the signature of the powerful German forward.
Nagelsmann told reporters yesterday: "I do not expect Timo Werner to be here next season and he is likely to leave the club."
Werner is seen as a long term successor to Olivier Giroud at the Blues.
