Everton have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard from Manchester United this summer.

The duo have fallen out-of-favour under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United are likely to consider their departures at the end of the season.

A recent report claimed that the Hammers could make a swoop for the United outcasts but The Independent claims that they could face competition from the Toffees.

Jones has managed just two league starts for the Red Devils this term and he is regarded as the club's fourth-choice centre-back behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

He is currently sidelined with an unknown injury and appears likely to miss the rest of the season. Lingard, on the other hand, has barely featured for the club since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes.

He was a regular in the number 10 position during the first half of the season. However, his playing time has drastically reduced since the start of 2020. He has not played a single minute in the last eight league games.

Aside from West Ham and Everton, West Bromwich Albion are also considering an ambitious move for the duo, suppose they are able to secure promotion from the Championship.
