Arsenal, Chelsea set to miss out on Nigerian striker
Arsenal and Chelsea are set to miss out on the services of Victor Osimhen as he is on the cusp of signing for Napoli.
The Nigerian made the move to Lille from Wolfsburg last summer and had an impressive debut season with 18 goals before the campaign was curtailed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
He has since been touted to pursue a fresh challenge with a bigger side and the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in signing him.
However, Napoli seem to have won the race to acquire his services from the French outfit after having agreed to pay a club-record fee of around £74m this summer.
The player has already agreed personal terms with the Serie A side and reports claim that he could make the formal move to the club in the next few days, provided they are no last-minute setbacks.
Napoli are expected to sell Arkadiusz Milik to compensate for Osimhen's arrival. The Poland international has declined to sign a new contract beyond June 2021.
