Arsenal prepared to sell Lucas Torreira to fund Thomas Partey move
Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Thomas Partey this summer and are willing to offload Lucas Torreira to fund the move.
The Gunners recently failed with a player-plus-cash deal involving Matteo Guendouzi for Partey and Atletico Madrid have made it clear that they won't sell him for anything less than his £45m release clause.
According to The Express, the north London side are currently not in a position to meet the buy-out clause and they need to accumulate funds from player sales.
Torreira has been regularly linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium and it is reported that the Gunners will consider his sale for the right price this summer.
The Uruguayan has been fancied to return to the Serie A with either AC Milan or Fiorentina. The Gunners are hoping to recoup most of the £26m fee paid to sign him from Sampdoria in 2018.
Torreira struggled for playing time under Mikel Arteta during the backend of the season where Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos were preferred in the centre of the park.
He made only two starts for the Gunners following the coronavirus shutdown and was an unused substitute for the FA Cup final against Chelsea which finished 2-1 in the club's favour.
