Chelsea, Manchester United to compete for Bayern Munich star?
Chelsea and Manchester United are among the teams in the running to sign David Alaba from Bayern Munich this summer.
The Austrian has spent his entire career with the Bavarian giants, but he could be on the move following their Champions League campaign.
Alaba's current deal expires next summer and so far, he has shown no intention of extending his stay, having already turned down a new contract worth £250,000-a-week.
Both Chelsea and United are keeping tabs on the German's situation and could pounce for his services, suppose Bayern are unable to renew his deal in the near future.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is currently eyeing a new left-back, who can bring solidity at the back and provide an attacking threat in the final third of the field.
Marcos Alonso and Emerson are the options at hand, but the latter has been tipped to head for the exit door. Meanwhile, United could also be eyeing a new left-back option with Luke Shaw yet to find his feet.
Shaw has shown glimpses of his old form at Southampton, but injuries have meant that he has lacked the continuity in the team. Alaba could be available for around £32m, if Bayern put him up for sale.
