Arsenal to sign Brazilian defender for £27m
Arsenal have reportedly finalised an agreement with Lille for Gabriel Magalhaes and an announcement could be made in the coming days.
The Brazilian has been the club's prime target to strengthen the central defensive department and they have now finalised a package worth £27m for his services.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back has already agreed terms over a five-year contract and he is set to undergo his medical with the Gunners on Monday.
He is set to become the club's second signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of Willian, who joined on a Bosman after the expiry of his contract at Chelsea.
Following Gabriel's arrival, the focus is likely to shift the midfield with the club facing the prospect of losing both Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi this summer.
Torreira is attracting strong interest from the Serie A and he has been fancied to make the switch to AS Roma. Meanwhile, Guendouzi has been offered to numerous sides after falling out-of-favour under Mikel Arteta.
