Maignan on Chelsea radar

Chelsea have identified Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan as a potential replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of next season.

Arrizabalaga had an average 2019/2020 campaign with the Blues and he ended the season with the worst save percentage in the Premier League.

According to Le 10 Sport, the Blues are lining up a move for Maignan, who is free to leave Lille at the right price during the current transfer window.

It is added that the west London giants could make a formal bid to sign the Frenchman once they have offloaded Arrizabalaga, possibly on loan.

Arrizabalaga is currently valued at £50m, but they are no suitors for his services on a permanent deal due to the present financial situation.

As a result, he could only leave the Blues on a temporary basis. The likes of Valencia and ex-club Athletic Bilbao are keen on luring him back to Spain.

Aside from Maignan, Burnley's Nick Pope, Watford's Ben Foster and Ajax's Andre Onana have been mentioned as potential candidates to replace Arrizabalaga.
