Fiorentina make loan bid for Arsenal midfielder

Serie A side Fiorentina have reportedly made an initial loan move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The Uruguay international experienced an average second season with the Gunners and he played second fiddle to Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos during the final months of the season.

Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid after his loan stint, but it appears that Torreira may still struggle to break into Mikel Arteta's lineup on a regular basis next term.

According to La Stampa, La Viola have proposed to sign the midfielder on an initial £7.5m loan fee with the obligation to buy for £16m at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Gunners have yet to respond to the proposal from the Italian outfit and they are awaiting for potential offers from elsewhere before deciding on the midfielder's future.

Torreira is said to be keen on a return to the Serie A where he made a name for himself with Sampdoria. AS Roma and AC Milan have also been linked with his services.
