Leicester City winning race for David Brooks
Leicester City have reportedly jumped ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth and Wales midfielder David Brooks.
The 23-year-old has attracted the Red Devils' attention throughout the summer, although they are intent on prioritising a move for Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho, leaving the Foxes with the greatest chance of tabling an offer.
Brooks, who can play in the centre of midfield along with either flank, featured nine times for Bournemouth last season - all of which coming after the suspension of football due to COVID-19, having been sidelined for eight months beforehand due to injuries.
The former Sheffield United man also has 13 Wales caps to his name, with his most recent appearance coming in the Dragons' 1-0 win in the UEFA Nations League against Bulgaria on Sunday.
This week the Cherries themselves have seen the departure of both Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson to Newcastle United, with Brooks' rumours of an exit from the Vitality Stadium joining Aston Villa's interest in signing striker Josh King.
Liecester have only acquired one new face so far this summer, having purchased Belgian left-back Timothy Castagne from Champions League quarter-finalists Atalanta, filling the void caused by the sale of Ben Chilwell to Chelsea.
