Liverpool to launch surprise raid for Harvey Barnes
Liverpool are rumoured to have made an approach for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, with the Anfield giants having deployed their chief scout to check in on the progress of the attacker. It is understood that the Foxes have no plan to sell their star youth asset, instead on the contrary the club would like to offer the player a brand new deal.
Leicester City will open their campaign today with a match against newly promoted West Bromwich Albion and eyes are likely to be set on the performance of the Foxes' attack line, spearheaded by Jamie Vardy. Barnes has struck up a fantastic understanding with the England international forward at the focal point of the club's attack.
If reports are to be believed, Liverpool are ready to make an offer of around £40 million for the starlet, who is undoubtedly set for full England international honours if he can have a promising season again for the club.
Barnes last season delivered more assists and goals together than that of club team mate James Maddison, seen by many to be one of the best young prospects in the country.
