Arsenal to sign Icelandic goalkeeper as Martinez replacement
Arsenal are reportedly set to land the signature of Icelandic goalkeeper Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson from French side Dijon.
The Gunners recently sanctioned the sale of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for £20m and they are now on the cusp of landing a replacement.
According to Iceland publication DV, Rúnarsson has already arrived in London and he is currently going through his medical with the Gunners.
The exact fee for the transfer has not been mentioned, but The Telegraph recently claimed that he would cost around £1.5m.
Mikel Arteta's side are keen on bolstering the midfield department before the international transfer window closes on October 5.
Aside from Martinez, Lucas Torreira seems on the cusp of leaving the club after they agreed on a deal worth £22m with Torino for his permanent exit.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is their top target, but the Spanish side won't sell him unless the £45m buy-out clause on his contract is triggered.
