Fabrizio Romano updates on Arsenal's transfer plans
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are still interested in signing Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey and Lyon's Houssem Aouar, but don't have the funds at the moment.
The north London side spent around £27m for the purchase of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille earlier this summer and he became their second major signing after the free transfer of Willian.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he has plans to make more additions to the squad, but prior to that, the club's hierarchy are looking to recoup sufficient funds from player sales.
Arsenal have already sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for around £20m and they are now looking for offers for Lucas Torreira, who is valued at £22m.
A number of other players including Matteo Guendouzi and Sokratis could also head through the exit door in the coming weeks and there could be a late spending spree.
Atletico are reluctant to sell Partey for anything less than his £45m release clause. Lyon, on the other hand, have set a non-negotiable £55m price tag for Aouar.
It has been previously reported that the Gunners may be able to sign only one of the duo before the international transfer window closes on October 5.
