Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a surprise attempt to sign out-of-favour Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard.

The north London side have already made five signings in the transfer window with Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale being the recent additions from Real Madrid.

They are still in the transfer market for new recruits and The Star claims that Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion with Lingard after their time together at Old Trafford.

Lingard enjoyed one of the best phases of his career under Mourinho and reports claim that the capital outfit could be prepared to spend around £30m to land his services this summer.

As things stand, Lingard's contract with the Red Devils expires in less than 10 months' time, but the club have the option of extending his stay for another year if required.

Hence, they are still in a good position to command a transfer fee for Lingard and the England international could head through the exit door in the coming weeks.
