Wesley Fofana joins Leicester City
Leicester City have secured the signing of Wesley Fofana from French outfit Saint Etienne. The player has put pen to paper on a five year deal with the Foxes, and arrives at his new club for a transfer fee of near to £18.75 million.
The 19-year-old Marseille born youngster has attracted the interest of numerous English clubs in recent months, with Arsenal and Southampton having both deployed scouts to monitor the player in action. However, it is Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City that have secured Fofana's signing, hot on the tails of the loan deal agreed for Cengiz Under.
"It's a brilliant signing for us," said Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers. "When you see him play he looks like he's played for a lot longer.
"He's very aggressive in his defending, he is super quick and he is good in the air. We're excited about developing his talent."
"A lot of work and persistence has gone in. He has limited experience but when you see him play, he looks like he's been playing a lot longer. He's aggressive, he's quick, he's good in the air."
The player himself commented on his transfer: "I know I will learn a lot from the players and the manager here, which is one of the main reasons I came. I can't wait to get started."
