Everton are on the verge of agreeing a deal for AS Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen, with the Swedish international goalkeeper set for a loan deal for Goodison Park. The 30-year-old 6 foot 5 shot stopper will battle with under fire Jordan Pickford for the number 1 jersey for the Toffees.

Carlo Ancelotti has moved swiftly to sign Olsen, with interest from Serie A rivals Genoa and Spanish side Villarreal for the Malmo-born keeper. Olsen had spent the 2018 campaign playing for parent club Roma, before moving to Cagliari on loan last year. Olsen has caught the eye since moving to Italy. Prior to his spell in Italy, the Swede played in Greece for PAOK and Denmark with Copenhagen.

It is understood that Everton have secured the option to purchase Olsen on a full time basis as per the terms of the deal, for a fee believed to be around 5 million euros.

Everton have plumped for Robin Olsen having seen transfer deals for Spurs' keeper Paulo Gazzaniga and Manchester United's Sergio Romero both fall through over the weekend.
