Giroud will assess Chelsea future in January

France international Olivier Giroud has said that he may consider his Chelsea future in January, should he struggle to earn regular first-team football.

Giroud ended the previous campaign as the first-choice striker for the Blues, but things have been different during the current season.

He has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League with the likes of Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham preferred ahead of him.

Speaking ahead of Les Bleus' fixture with Ukraine, Giroud acknowledged that he may assess his Blues' future at the turn of the year.

"There is competition but I will fight and we saw the rewards of that at the end of last season," He told.

"I am convinced that I have a role to play at Chelsea. We will see in January."

Despite the mixed fortunes at Stamford Bridge, Giroud has been a regular starter upfront for the national team.

France will play a friendly against Ukraine on Wednesday night before facing Portugal and Croatia in the Nations League.
