Man Utd extend Pogba's contract

Manchester United have reportedly extended the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba amid the transfer interest from Juventus and Real Madrid.

Pogba has struggled for consistency over the past 18 months, but he still remains a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils have recently triggered a clause on Pogba's contract to extend his stay until June 2022.

Pogba's deal was initially due to expire at the end of the current season, but United have sought to preserve his transfer value with the extension.

The hierarchy were hoping to negotiate a long-term deal with the midfielder, but that has not happened over the past few months.

Hence, they have opted for the short-term renewal and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Pogba to commit for the long-term.

Pogba recently said that he has the dream to play for Los Blancos, but reports claim that Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to target him next summer.
