Carlo Ancelotti confirms starting goalkeeper vs Manchester United
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Jordan Pickford will start in goal when the Toffees host Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The England international has been inconsistent with his performances in goal over the past year and he was recently dropped to the bench for the 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United where Robin Olsen started.
Ahead of the United game, however, Ancelotti has confirmed that Pickford will return between the sticks with the 26-year-old mentally prepared for the challenge.
He told: "I have no message. I talk to him every day this week, we laughed, we were together. He knows what to do tomorrow. He starts, yes he starts, no doubt. His mentality is good, I don't want to change it."
Everton started the season with four wins on the bounce, but they have since picked up just one point from the next three games. They are fourth on the table with 13 points, six ahead of United, who have played a game less.
