Liverpool target Serie A defender amid injury crisis

Liverpool have identified Torino centre-back Bremer as a potential target for the next transfer window.

The Reds are likely to be without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for the season with serious knee injuries and that has reduced their quality in the central defensive positions.

Aside from the duo, Fabinho is also on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and one of Rhys Williams or Nat Phillips could partner Joel Matip when the Reds take on Leicester City next weekend.

According to The Athletic, the Merseyside outfit are weighing up their options to fill the void and Bremer has recently been added to their shortlist of targets for January.

The Reds have been unfortunate with several injury setbacks and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also out of contention alongside Mohamed Salah, who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently third on the Premier League table with 17 points, just one behind league leaders Leicester City whom they are scheduled to host after the international break.
