Arsenal revive contract talks with young striker

Folarin Balogun news

Arsenal re-enter contract talks with Balogun

Arsenal have reportedly revived contract talks with young graduate Folarin Balogun.

Balogun declined to sign a new deal earlier this summer and he was fancied to leave the club, having entered the final 12 months of his contract.

However, the north London side did not receive any suitable offers with Sheffield United's £3m bid being well below their £15m price tag.

Balogun has since made his senior debut with a cameo appearance against Dundalk in the Europa League and the club are now hoping to extend his stay.

According to The Athletic, Mikel Arteta values the youngster highly and he is keen to keep hold of his services beyond the current campaign.

It is added that the hierarchy have resumed contract negotiations with the teenager and are hoping to find an agreement by the turn of the year.

In case they don't succeed, they may be tempted to accept a nominal fee to part ways with the striker during the winter transfer window.
