Predicted Man United lineup vs Man City

Manchester United are scheduled to host arch-rivals Manchester City in the League Cup semi-final tonight. The Red Devils are aiming to reach their first final in the competition since 2017 when they won the trophy.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

Dean Henderson has started all three games in the Cup campaign, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may go with the experience of David de Gea between the sticks tonight.

In the defence, no changes are expected. Victor Lindelof is available after a back issue, but he may stay on the bench.

Eric Bailly, who has been in good form of late, likely to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of the backline.

Scott McTominay and Fred have been the constant picks in the midfield this term.

With Paul Pogba playing in a more advanced position of late, they are likely to keep their places.

Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek are the other options available, but the former's limited mobility could see him on the bench.

Van de Beek, meanwhile, has not played a single minute in the past three games and could be restricted to a cameo role.

Further forward, it should be the same combination from last weekend. Pogba should feature on the left side of the attack.

Marcus Rashford is likely to play on the right wing while Bruno Fernandes should take up his customary number 10 role.

Upfront, Anthony Martial should lead the line. The Frenchman has scored in three of his previous four starts against Pep Guardiola's side.

Predicted Manchester United lineup: David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba; Anthony Martial
