Thomas Tuchel updates on Thiago Silva's injury
Thomas Tuchel updates on Thiago Silva's injury
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has provided an injury update on Thiago Silva ahead of the FA Cup game against Barnsley.
The Brazil international sustained a thigh injury during the 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur and he subsequently missed the Sheffield United clash.
Tuchel has now confirmed that Silva will remain on the sidelines and the club need to be patient with his recovery process.
"Thiago's out; he's feeling better and better all the time and he's getting a lot of treatment," he told the club's official website.
"But it takes its time, it's a muscle injury, we cannot force it; That's how it is with muscle injuries, so he's out for tomorrow for sure."
Tuchel has previously mentioned that the veteran centre-back could return to action against Southampton on February 20.
That appears unlikely at the moment, considering the 36-year-old has yet to return to the training pitch for individual drills.
The Blues are scheduled to face Barnsley in the FA Cup fifth round tie tomorrow.
Tuchel has confirmed both N'Golo Kante and Hakim Ziyech will start against the Tykes.
