Real Madrid want Manchester City defender this summer

Real Madrid may attempt to sign Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City during this summer's transfer window.

Laporte has fallen down the pecking order this term with John Stones and Ruben Dias preferred ahead of him in the central defence.

He recently admitted that he may assess his options in the summer and Daily Star claims that Los Blancos are weighing up an approach.

The Spanish champions are likely to lose the services of captain Sergio Ramos when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

Elsewhere, they are concerned over the position of Raphael Varane, who has only 17 months left in his existing deal at the Bernabeu.

Laporte has played as the deputy behind Stones and Dias, but he has been afforded with regular game time in the Cup competitions.

He appears unlikely to break the solid partnership and may push for an exit, suppose his position remains the same in four months' time.
