Arsenal to sign French left-back on a free transfer?
Arsenal are reportedly exploring the prospect of signing Jordan Amavi on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Amavi is currently in the ranks of Marseille, but he is likely to leave them when his contract expires in June.
According to L'Equipe, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen on landing a back-up option to first-choice left-back Kieran Tierney.
Cedric Soares has deputised for the Scot on multiple occasions this term, but the Portuguese is a right-back by trade.
Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have played in the position in the past, but they are currently out on loan.
The duo are likely to be sold during the summer and Arteta is looking for a cost-cut replacement in the form of Amavi.
Amavi, who previously played for Aston Villa in the Premier League, is free to negotiate a pre-contact with an overseas club at the moment.
The Gunners could face stiff competition from AC Milan for his signature.
