Chelsea manager confirms injury blow for key attacker
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Christian Pulisic picked up a fresh hamstring injury during the recent Premier League defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
The USA international has had multiple setbacks during his time with the Blues, and he is now on the sidelines with another muscular problem.
"Christian did a sprint when he came back out for the second half and said that he felt his hamstring would not survive the game if he continued," Tuchel said.
Pulisic scored the opening goal against the Baggies on Saturday, but within a couple of minutes, Thiago Silva was sent off after a second yellow card.
The Baggies took advantage of playing with 10 men and managed to take the lead (2-1) before the break. They eventually won by a stunning 5-2 scoreline.
Pulisic was substituted at the interval with the injury. He came out from the tunnel, but immediately signalled that he needed to come off.
The injury is Pulisic's fourth of the campaign, and he has already missed more than 15 games across all competitions.
