Chelsea enter the race to sign Serie A striker with 23 goal contributions
Chelsea have identified Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as a potential target for the summer transfer window, ESPN claims.
The Blues purchased Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last summer, but neither have managed to make regular contributions in the league.
Hence, the club are likely to pursue another marksman, and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland is deemed their top target.
According to ESPN, the Blues are keeping their options open for the summer, and Martinez is reportedly an alternative choice.
Martinez has impressed for the Nerazzurri this term, with 15 goals and eight assists in his 29 appearances in the Serie A.
The Nerazzurri are on course for their maiden league title in 11 years, but they may be forced to sell one of their leading players.
They currently have losses of more than £100m, and Martinez could be shown the exit door when the transfer window reopens.
Thomas Tuchel's side will have to meet the player's buy-out clause of around £96m to land his signature during the summer.
