Arsenal could sign 25-year-old goalkeeper for just £7m
Arsenal could make an approach to sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana during the summer transfer window, Goal.com claims.
The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with a Premier League move, and he was on the Gunner radar in January.
Onana has since been handed a 12-month doping ban, but he is hopeful of reducing the suspension through the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
According to Goal.com, the goalkeeper will have a hearing in June, and the punishment could be reduced by four months.
In that case, he would be allowed to training by August, and it is claimed that the Gunners could seek to land his signature.
Ajax reportedly value their goalkeeper at £12 million, but the Gunners are optimistic of landing him for £7m this summer.
The arrival of Onana may impact the future of regular goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who has two years left on his contract.
The German recently said that he is open to everything, with the club yet to open negotiations over a possible new deal.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are confident of signing Mat Ryan permanently from Brighton & Hove Albion when his loan stint ends.
