Arsenal intensify pursuit of Premier League left-back
Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand ahead of the summer.
The England international will be leaving the Saints when his contract expires next month, and he is on the Gunners radar.
The north London club were interested in signing him in January, but were not able to reach a suitable agreement.
Bertrand is available on a free transfer this summer, and the club have already made contact with his representatives.
Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the left-back, who started his playing career with Chelsea.
The Gunners could have the advantage over the Cityzens from the fact that Bertrand could be assured game time in the Cup games.
Kieran Tierney remains the club's first-choice for the left-back role, but he has struggled with multiple short-term injuries.
Meanwhile, Sead Kolasinac is expected to return to the club after his short-term loan at Schalke 04, but he could be sold immediately.
