Lazio want to sign Arrizabalaga on loan

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has emerged as a loan target for Serie A club Lazio this summer.

The club recently appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, and he is keen to reunite with Arrizabalaga.

Sarri previously managed the Spaniard at the Blues, and La Repubblica claims that Lazio will explore a loan deal.

However, the Italian outfit are only willing to pay 50 percent of the player's wages for a season-long loan agreement.

Arrizabalaga played just 14 times for the Blues last term, with Edouard Mendy being the regular between the sticks.

The Blues are keen to offload him this summer, but they are unlikely to recoup the £72m fee paid three years ago.

They are open to cutting their losses on the player, but his weekly wages are another stumbling block for interested clubs.

Arrizabalaga was recently part of the back-up squad for Spain at the European Championships amid COVID-19 fears.
