Manchester City defender to push for Barcelona transfer?
Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has the ambition to join Barcelona during this summer's transfer window.
The 27-year-old had a tough 2020/21 season as he was the back-up centre-back behind Ruben Dias and John Stones.
He made just 14 starts in the Premier League, and was on the bench for the Champions League knockout games.
According to Sport, Laporte has indicated his desire to join the Catalan giants, but a deal remains complicated.
The club have financial concerns, and they are unlikely to afford his signature unless a part-exchange deal is agreed.
Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola is an admirer of Sergi Roberto, but it is unclear whether he would be willing to lose Laporte.
It has recently been claimed that Nathan Ake is also assessing his options after struggling for playing time last season.
Laporte is currently with Spain at the European Championships. He recently changed his allegiance from France to La Roja.
He could be reunited with former clubmates Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia if he makes the move to the Blaugrana this summer.
