Patson Daka rejected Liverpool for this reason
Zambian striker Patson Daka reportedly rejected the chance to join Liverpool this summer due to playing time.
The 22-year-old is expected to join Leicester City this month after they secured a transfer agreement with Red Bull Salzburg.
The Foxes will pay around £23m up front for the markman, who has already agreed personal terms over a contract.
According to Zambia Football, Daka held talks with Liverpool earlier this month, but he was unconvinced by the project.
With the presence of Robert Firmino and Diogo Jota, Daka felt that he would struggle for regular game time next season.
The Foxes have Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho as their main strikers, and they played regularly together earlier this year.
Daka fares best with another striker alongside him. He has received the assurance of nailing down a starting spot with the Foxes.
Daka had an exceptional 2020/21 season for Salzburg, registering 34 goals and 12 assists from just 42 games in all competitions.
