Arsenal could trigger release clause to sign Alexander Isak

Isak to Arsenal?

Arsenal are prepared to trigger the release clause on Alexander Isak's contract if he is interested in joining them.

The Gunners are braced for the departures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, and they could bring in a high-profile striker.

Technical director Edu Gaspar is a huge admirer of Isak, and AS claims that he has already held talks with the striker's agent.

It is added that the Gunners are prepared to meet the £60m buy-out clause in full if Isak accepts the proposal to join them.

Isak has been with Real Sociedad for the past two years. He bagged 17 goals from 34 appearances in La Liga last season.

Real Madrid are also interested in the Sweden international, but they are unlikely to guarantee him regular game time.

Sociedad have no plans of negotiating the fee this summer. The Gunners are still open to the prospect of landing the 21-year-old.

Isak has been one of the standout performers for Sweden at Euro 2020. He has particularly caught the eye with his dribbling.
