Chelsea to swoop for former Manchester United goalkeeper
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero this summer.
The Argentine was released by the Red Devils last month, and he is currently on the look out for a new club.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues are searching for a third-choice keeper, and Romero is being considered.
Romero was desperate to join Everton on loan last summer, but the move was blocked by the Red Devils.
He did not make a single appearance last term as David de Gea and Dean Henderson were preferred ahead of him.
The 34-year-old is now keen to revive his career. It appears unlikely that he will accept the proposal from the Blues.
Thomas Tuchel's side are also interested in Marcus Bettinelli, who is a free-agent after he was released by Fulham.
Arsenal and Aston Villa have also been linked with the 29-year-old. They could offer him the back-up position.
Chelsea start their 2021/22 Premier League campaign with a home game against Crystal Palace on August 14.
