As it was being speculated, Bayern Munich and Anderlecht have announced that Joshua Zirkzee, a young promising striker will join RSC Anderlecht on a season-long loan deal from FC Bayern Munich.

He made his debut for Bayern's first team under Hansi Flick. Zirkzee began his formation in Holland at ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord, but moved to the youth teams of Bayern in 2017. He made his debut in the first team at Bayern in December 2019 and subsequently played his first minutes in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Zirkzee would go on to score 4 goals in 9 games in the German league that season. But in 2020/21 when Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting joined Bayern, Zirkzee wasn't getting nearly any game time. He had a six-month loan spell with Parma last season, but that was hampered by an injury that restricted him to only four appearances.

Joshua is now delighted to be in Brussels. He said: "After a phone call with Vincent Kompany, I immediately felt a connection. The club placed a lot of trust on me and I think the style of play suits me well. I feel ready to contribute to the team and to help the club to achieve its goals."

Anderlecht's Sporting Director Peter Verbeke had some good words to speak about him: "Joshua is a young centre-forward with huge potential. It fits our philosophy to help him develop, while also achieving results. Joshua can keep the ball, but also has good passing and individual skills. With Joshua, we’re again adding extra quality to the squad.”

Hasan Salihamidzic is hoping for the best for the young striker, he said: "It’s very important for Joshua that he gets as much playing time as possible. Anderlecht offers him this chance. Joshua can now take the important next step in his professional career in an interesting league, and I trust him to have a good season."

All Bayern fans will be hoping for a good season for the forward such that the club can sell him next season to earn revenues for buying world-class players available in the market.
