Arsenal midfielder agrees personal terms with Premier League club
Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock is on the verge of joining Newcastle United, according to The Telegraph.
The Gunners recently agreed to sell Willock to the Magpies for £25m, but personal terms remained unsettled.
Willock initially rejected a contract offer from the Magpies, but he has now sorted any differences over the salary.
He is expected to join the Tyneside outfit in the next 24 hours. Willock will put pen-to-paper on a six-year contract.
He will become the club's first signing of the summer, and there could be more additions before the transfer deadline.
A new centre-back and defensive midfielder is among the priorities for manager Steve Bruce in the coming weeks.
Manchester United's Phil Jones is being considered by the Magpies if he is available on a free transfer this summer.
Jones has not played a competitive game for United in 18 months. He still has two years remaining on his contract.
There are reports stating that the Red Devils could release him by mutual agreement such that he can revive his career.
