Arsenal midfielder set for permanent Serie A return
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is set to return to the Italian top flight with Fiorentina.
The Uruguayan fell out-of-favour with the Gunners last season. He was loaned out to Atletico Madrid for the campaign.
Since his return, he has been touted to leave the north London club permanently as he is not in Mikel Arteta's plans.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the midfielder will make the switch to La Viola on an initial loan deal worth €1.5 million.
The contract has an obligatory buy clause for €15m. It will be triggered if Torreira plays at least 50 per cent of the games.
There is a high likeliness that the clause will be activated next summer, provided there are no injuries for the Uruguayan.
The Gunners are actively looking to offload players. They are in talks with Corinthians over the free transfer of Willian.
The club are also considering bids for Eddie Nketiah. They are looking for around €23m to part ways with their graduate.
