Chelsea defender completes move to West Ham
French defender Kurt Zouma has completed his move to West Ham United from Chelsea on a four-year contract.
The Hammers were keen on landing a central defender this summer, and Zouma was one of their top priorities.
The asking price was initially a stumbling block for them, but they managed to finalise a deal worth £25m earlier this week.
Zouma underwent his medical in Paris. After a second opinion from the London medical team, the transfer has been announced.
He becomes the Hammers' second acquisition of the summer after goalkeeper Alphonse Areola's arrival on a season-long loan.
The Hammers could still pursue a new striker before the transfer deadline owing to Michail Antonio's injury record in recent years.
The east London club qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-place finish last term, and they are aiming to do better this term.
They are currently top of the league standings with seven points, having scored more goals than Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton.
