Chelsea working on new contract for midfielder
Chelsea are reportedly working on a new long-term contract for midfielder N'Golo Kante.
The Frenchman has entered the final two years of his current deal, and the Blues are keen to prolong his stay.
Kante endured a tough 2019/2020 campaign with injuries, and he struggled for consistency during the first half of last season.
However, he picked up his form during the backend under Thomas Tuchel, helping the club win the Champions League for a second time.
He was recently named the Champions League midfielder of the season, and the Blues are keen to reward him for his recent efforts.
Kante picked up an ankle injury during the 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League prior to the international break.
Tuchel confirmed that the injury was a recurrence of his previous concern, and it is unclear whether he will return to action soon.
The Blues still have the position well covered with Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and recently signed Saul Niguez.
