Manchester United still keen on landing Declan Rice
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice continues to remain on the radar of Manchester United, ESPN reports.
The England international has been touted for a big-club move over the past year, but a deal has not materialised.
Chelsea were heavily interested in him in 2020, but they were put off by the £80 million price tag from the Hammers.
United were credited with an interest earlier this summer, but the club never prioritised a move for a midfield signing.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils may pursue a new midfielder next summer and Rice is among the top transfer targets.
The 22-year-old is keen to play Champions League football. A move may depend on whether the Hammers lower their valuation.
Rice has three years left on his existing deal with another 12 months.
He has no plans of prolonging his stay with the Hammers. He won't sign an improved deal unless a fixed release clause is inserted.
United are likely to face stiff competition from the Blues, who are open to re-signing their graduate, with Thomas Tuchel an admirer.
