Chelsea finalising contract terms with 25-year-old
Chelsea are on the cusp of extending the contract of Andreas Christensen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Christensen has been a key player for the Blues under manager Thomas Tuchel, and he recently confirmed that he is happy to stay.
His current deal expires in 10 months, but Romano claims that an extension is on the way and could be announced soon.
Christensen has excelled for the Blues in the back three, and he has been picked ahead of Thiago Silva on several occasions.
The Blues are looking into the future, and the 25-year-old is considered as a key part of the long-term plans under Tuchel.
Aside from Christensen, talks are underway over a new contract for club captain Cesar Azpilicueta. He is expected to sign.
After the duo, the hierarchy could prioritise new deals for N'Golo Kante and Jorginho, who have been instrumental in midfield.
Chelsea face Tottenham Hotspur on the road in the Premier League this weekend.
