Manchester United continuing contract talks with versatile attacker
Manchester United are continuing contract talks with Jesse Lingard, according to ESPN.
The England international had a superb loan stint at West Ham United earlier this year, bagging nine goals and six assists.
The Hammers were keen to sign him permanently, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear that he wanted to keep the attacker.
Lingard has since been restricted to substitute appearances, and he has a huge decision to make on his future ahead of the New Year.
His current deal expires in 10 months, and he can discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club from the January transfer window.
The Hammers have not given up on landing him. It was initially reported that United valued Lingard at over £30m this summer.
He could be available on a cut-price in January if he turns down a renewal.
Lingard recently snubbed a two-year contract extension. He wants the assurance of regular starts to stay put with the Red Devils.
