Chelsea planning pre-contract offer for AC Milan star?

Franck Kessie news

Kessie to Chelsea next year?

Chelsea are reportedly planning to negotiate a pre-contract for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian has snubbed a contract extension with the Rossoneri, and he could leave them in either January or next summer.

His current deal expires in less than 10 months. He is free to negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club at the turn of the year.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with him, and Calciomercato claims that the Blues are lining up an offer.

They are planning to discuss a contract in January. The Blues are prepared to quadruple his current wages to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are loaded with midfield options. They currently have Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic as the regulars.

Saul Niguez, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, is another option for the manager alongside club graduate Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

They also have Billy Gilmour away on loan. He has been touted to have a bright future ahead with the west London giants.

There does not appear the need for reinforcement unless one of the regulars leave. Jorginho has been linked with a Serie A return.
