Southampton complete signing of former Chelsea goalkeeper
Southampton have confirmed the arrival of former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero on a short-term contract until January 5.
The Saints have taken the option to sign the Argentine after both Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster picked up injuries.
The 40-year-old has been a free-agent since his release from Chelsea over the summer, but he has been keeping himself fit.
He will now join his new teammates in training, and is likely to make the starting line-up when the Saints face Arsenal this weekend.
The South Coast outfit have failed to win any of their previous four league games, and recently drew 1-1 against Brighton & Hove Albion.
They were on course for a win in midweek, but Neal Maupay scored in the dying seconds after James Ward-Prowse put him onside from a free-kick.
Following the game, Ralph Hasenhuttl was critical over McCarthy, who continued playing despite struggling with a hamstring problem.
He will be hoping that his team can surprise the Gunners on Saturday.
